Safety Information

We are a water sport and we go on the water in March so safety is something we take seriously.

Attire

Please come prepared. Wear non-bulky layers and hats. Clothing should be snug and not baggy or loose fitting. Please avoid cotton or any down jackets. When cotton and down get wet they are no longer useful to keep your rower warm. If the coach feels the rower isn’t dressed appropriately they won’t be able to go on the water.

Most days are not cold and wet! As spring advances, the days on the water will be beautiful.  Rowers often comment on how peaceful it is to row smoothly along the lake, seeing swans and enjoying the sun.

Rough Water

Coaches make the decision to go on the water or stay in the barn and erg.  Most days are on the water.
